hmm... how would a planed crashd spaceship look like as a base?

Maybe some Idea for the Chucklefish Team, to make such wrecks on some deserted Planets or moons, with long dead Astronauts, or some old lose Space Ship Wrackages in an Asteroidfield...

That would bring an amazing boost to the Atmosphere of the game. ^^

Oh, and a very interesting "Junk Planet" I must say too. ^^

But I think that could be make better.

Put some junk under the Sand, make pools of old oil with some sort of natural looking Tar ground and some Acid pools.
Let it look more "unnatural" as it is now.
Not like a nearly "fresh" junkplanet, but more like one, that was used for nearly a Century or so.
I think that would be looking cool. ^^

... There where some Junkyard Levels in some of the old Mega Man X Games, that hat interesting Backgrounds.
Maybe that could be something for a Mod, that brings Junkplanets in...

 

I could make it on a urban wasteland that frackin universe adds but I would rather build it on a barren planet with no mobs or weather then have to deal with acid rain, greifing dust/ash storms, mercury rain, or getting attacked every couple minutes... if it was possible to find one without some of those conditions then I would of used it in a heartbeat

 

A crashed ship isn't too hard to make, but you must plan two things for it. The intact ship and the crashed one. That way you can build the crashed ship with the full ship in mind and place the right pieces.

 

First settlement of the new stable build wich Im playing from scratch.
I'll be using it mostly for crafting and storage beetween travels.

I re-used this little place already built on this lush planet.
Later on felt little lonely so I built a small room for a roomate wich Mr. Frogg on the outpost helped me decorate.

Probably I'll be inviting other tennants as time goes by.

It's true that the deeds don't look really good in a wooden house. They are fit for more high-tech ones. We need to get a modder on that!

Started playing again with the new update after taking a long break. My partner and I started a little colony together on a desert planet, and we got our first tenant!



He likes to sit on logs and ride the colony teleporter back and forth until he loses his lunch. Silly NPC!

 

Looks a little like an UFO from the good old X-Com Games. xD

 

Funny you say that as I have been playing alot of X-Com, although that wasn't intentional.

I think ill call it Packrat Haven instead of The Junkyard.
