The small squirming fluff thing made high pitched squealing sounds as she rolled it around in her hands. Her skin wicked the water off that dripped from the ceiling. Her mind drifted to the events leading to this moment. Her muscles ached as the images fluttered across her minds eye.
The glow lights whipping past her as her legs pumped furiously carrying her along the undulating halls. The screams and howls that chased her through the warren hall made her ignore the pains in her chest, in her arms and legs. She could feel her mind tingle as her awareness of the creep-vines that lined the walls grew. She shrieked as the power of a Greenfinger flooded into her. They must have broken through the bulkheads that blocked off the bunker from the rest of this forsaken place. Twisted and corrupted things invading the only home she had ever known. She let the scream drag out of her as she rounded the corner as the power settled into her, her fathers power, now passed to her because.... because.....
She couldn't think about that now. She entered into a massive chamber, the air warm and moist from the blood pool at the bottom of the room. Her pure black eyes scanned the upper galleries for any others that may be looking for a more challenging meal then just scraping it off the walls. The hard plate under her clawed feet stable compared to the rest of the living structure. A scrimshaw arrow pierced the back of her thigh and she dropped to the floor. She reached for the wall to regain her footing and turned to face her death.

She felt a solid hand on her shoulder.

The stabbing pain in her palm woke her from her memories. The fluff thing in her hand pulled its sharp tail out of her hand and growled at her. She closed her claw around it and squeezed. Several more holes appeared in her hand before the thing stopped moving. The pain was good, it cleared her head. She tossed the thing in her mouth and gulped it down. Sap dripped down her forearm and she covered herself with a bandage. Reaching out with her mind she made contact with the roots above her. She followed them up, up through the thick truck of the plants on the surface. She reached up and out to the splits of the trucks that made branches and the leaves that capped them. The soft skin of the leaves felt cool to her mind, it has stopped feeding. After the weeks of being on this planet she had practiced her abilities and found a rhythm to life here. The evil ball washed the land with painful light, the plants fed from its energy becoming charged and vibrant with the making of food. Then the plants become cool and sweet to her mind during the times when the light fled across the horizon. While the plants of this word fed it was not safe to come out of her cave.
She had tried her first day and the evil thing in the sky blinded her with it's needle bright light. It had taken hours after she fled back into the cave for her vision to start to return and the throbbing in her skull to subside. It took a day before her stomach forced her to venture back. This time she neared the mouth of the cave with her eyes shielded. Slowly, oh so slowly she uncovered her eyes. She let her eyes adjust to the brightness through her eyelids. Finally after another hour of getting used to it she opened her eyes.
Bright green covered everything. The leaves glittering in the wash of starlight, bushes and fronds and lichen and mushrooms spread across the outcroppings of the stony crags and on the tops of sheer cliff sides. A dull sensation beat at the depths of her chest that traveled up her spine and pulsed in her head. She could feel them. Every leaf, every branch and cap. Pulling in liquids, roots moving in minerals and seeds growing. Wind moving through them, the whole world moved, she was used to it and yet... this was different. it was different from the undulating smoothness of the warren walls. The bite of freshness on the wind as her sense of smell took in things that she had only heard about from her father and his lectures. What she was not used to was those... She looked up at the sky. The vast open expanse she had drifted through on her way to this planet peppered with countless white lights. She eyeballed those pinpricks of light suspiciously for a time before clicking her tongue and shacking it off. She would need more food soon.
