I personally like sticking with the more classic weaponry, it makes it a whole lot more fun to have weaponry that has a chance to explode every time you fire it~

That only really happens during the transition period to a new, better kind of powder, such as early gunpowder to corned gunpowder, or blackpowder to smokeless. Also when some crazy yank wildcats some .45 long colt cartridges with .45-70 gov't bullets:

Either way, I personally think that having weapons like a .44 revolver would make magic obsolete. See an enemy channeling a spell? Point and click, they are dead. With singleshot or pin fire weapons, there is more of a chance for other people. It would also make being a swordsman obsolete, because, as we saw in Indiana Jones, a swordsman that has trained their entire life still can be brought down instantly by someone who has had a week's worth of practice with a gun. It's Relten's choice, but I personally would prefer if we stick with the previous choice.

Well, even before the allowance of other weapons, we did have shotguns, tommyguns, and pistols available for use.

Hell, even freaking double barreled elephant guns would have made the cut.

Ah, I was under the impression that only single shot weapons or pin fire were allowed, my bad.

Do characters have to be of the races outlined in you Rp overview?

That would be civil war era, not dieselpunk. Think Indiana Jones. Also, pinfire, while quickly obsolete, do provide the same refire rate as any other revolver cartridge.

    Indeedo.

Characters must be one of the many races that I have in the outline. Was there something else you wanted to select that isn't on the list?
especially for those insane folks who enjoy revolver fanning.

    Just point out the disasters.

    Race: Human
    Name: Hunter
    Age:21
    Pros:
Gunman: Years of shootouts in the streets and shooting around civilians have rendered him a crack shot with sidearms
Guardian:Will head into danger to defend others, more so of close allies.
Hardy: Many battles and old wounds have made him able to ignore large amounts of pain and take whatever life throws at him.
Chivalrous: Fighting through the hindrance of no social skills whatsoever, he maintains an nearly extinct form of leading kindness, especially towards women.
Old Tech savvy: He can work an old piece of technology any way you want it.
Resourceful: Leave him alone long enough with a piece of equipment, supplies and his tools, and you will get a moderately well made tool fitting of your needs.
Cautious:Most people prepare for a small battle, he prepares for a War.
Blunt Weapon Specialist: He has no problem using any solid instrument nearby to lay out an unalarmed enemy.

    Cons:
Awkward: Put a lady in front of him and watch him stutter.
Magically Ignorant: Spent enough time to understand magic and haven't touched it since.
Attitude Changes: When he grows impatient, his attitude shifts to a calm thinker to a rushing anger.
Lost in new Tech: Don't expect a miracle with the newest technology.
Strange style:His way of dress is one of a kind in a bad way, and he has trouble being missed, even in a crowd.
Strict Morals: He WILL NOT commit an action to harm the people, and if you want him to you better be ready to convince the world with him.
Soft Hearted:Unless you have a gun on him or made fun of him, he will likely give you a second chance.
Bladed Weapon lacking: He rarely uses knives or swords, preferring lead to steel .
Over Anticipating: His odds on a situation are much different to someone else's, in the opposition's favor.
Tightly Wound: He doesn't have a sense of humor and is always alert, seeming less appealing in a nonhostile environment, but missing little.
Panics in heavy odds: 2\1 odds he can handle, anything much worse and he starts to lose it. This is less serious in a Standoff or barehanded fight.

Don't expect him to be the most agile of folks...what with all of those items he lugs around.

I am rather surprised that you of all people hasn't played Call of Juarez yet.

Word of advice, skip the poorly made modern version of it and go straight to gunslinger after you go through the first couple games.

    Indeed he does.
What is wrong with being similar to a badass gunslinging reverend from a western FPS game?

Sadly the only Western I had when I was young was Gun but I burned it up!

And agility wise, is a quick dive to cover out of the question?
    And I'll follow your advice.

Alright, here's the updated Fieke; feel free to give me the bad news.

    Name: Fieke Schmidt
    Age: 27
    Gender: Female
    Race: Human
Description: She is slightly shorter than average, with a slim build. She wears a old bomber-style jacket, trousers with plenty of pockets, a belt for some of her tools, a pair of heavy boots, googles, and a red scarf. She has a shock of red hair, though she normally keeps it covered with a leather pilot cap.

    Inventory:
Pilot Outfit (Jacket, scarf, goggles, cap, trousers, belt and boots)
    Mechanic's toolbox
Pipe wrench (doubles as a club)
Mauser C96 (10 round capacity, holster doubles as a shoulderstock)
Box of 50 rounds for the pistol
    Backpack
a few days worth of field rations

    Backstory:
A native of the Theiriel empire, Fieke at a young age saw her homeland devastated by the Great War. The collapse that followed left her and what remained of her family homeless, and was forced to scavenge to survive. Before long, she learned that she had a talent with machinery, and used those skills to to make something of a living as a mechanic and driver.
When the new empire began to rise, she worried about what new direction it could be taking. A new empire would no doubt lead to new wars, and a new generation of victims; she wanted no part of it. After antagonizing the authorities with her views, she decided to cut her losses and leave the empire, perhaps forging a new life elsewhere.

    Traits:
-Grease Monkey: She finds herself comfortable elbows-deep in an engine, fixing vehicles or digging through salvage.
-Driver at the Wheel: If it has wheels or tracks, she will be able to drive it; or figure out how to before long.
-Pistolero: When caught in a fight, she favours a more compact sidearm, pistols and the like; since they are easy to stow, and quick to draw.
    Flaws:
-Post Traumatic Stress Disorder: Living through a war changes people, and Fieke is no different. Flashbacks of the horrors still plague her.
-Outspoken: She is a ready critic of things she doesn’t approve of; be it oppressive governments, per-judgemental people, underpowered engines, etc. Some might find this annoying, others might try to silence her…
-Lightweight: She’s fairly easy to push around physically.

No. though Jareix's Sallok wouldn't be out of place.

Unfortunately I have a fascination with anthropological wolves as RP characters, and was simply wondering if me using one would be appropriate or not.

Well, when I mean that he won't be agile, I mean that he will be encumbered, heavier, and probably not capable of doing athletic feats that most folks who pack lightly would be able to handle.

I mean, that metal lobster armor that he is wearing has to weight a significant amount after all.
Give me a bit to read this, and I shall get back to you if I have any gripes with it.
I'm hesitant on allowing it on the primary basis that I would have to write up lore and balances for what would essentially be an entirely new race.

This is a universe that doesn't coincide with the Starbound universe after all. So you can see why having to draft up these types of things would be rather unappealing, especially when I want to try and put more effort in the plot of the RP itself.
