Modding Discussion Pokémon!

Okay.
So.
I had this idea floating around in my head for a while now.
Don't take this thread too serious, I'm just testing how much support I could get for something like this.

Okay, let's start:

Thing is, I'm bad at pixelart, thus I'd deliver all projectiles (skills), frames and animation files and capturepods, as well as anything that's not pixelart related.

However, I'm looking for lots of pixelart veterans (or talented beginners) to create spritesheets for the first 151 (start small) Pokémon.
Once we've got a little team running we can assign the work based on the Pokédex numbers. (God that sounds stupid).

But yeah, I want to make sure there are some people who'd join in on this.
(Hope that's enough info since I don't want to spoil the fun)

Sure why not. I can also teach you the fundamentals of pixel art too.

The thing is, mods are free of charge.
There's not much to fear as long as we do not charge money for the mod.
It's simply treated as Fan Art.

Once we get enough PA's theres also space for another "coder". I guess.
Just... I don't think I'll include a pokedex yet, so no work a writer, sorry.

 

Eh, I might not be able to contribute, but I might as well do what I'm quite good at. More or less lurking and making sure everyone on the thread knows I exist through likes. That and I like what I've heard so far, so this forces me to keep an eye here.

 

will there be shinies in the mod?

We'll first start with gen1 and no shinies, we'll see which reaction the mod gets and if it's even worth the effort after that.
If everything goes as planned we'll be adding all pokemons, evolutions and shinies, sure. :>

 

Nope. If you want to know how much I do it you can glance at Clan Infinity and know the past two... three? Incarnations of it are all liked by me. Every last post. Unless it was something so horrible I wasn't willing to like it, which I think happened once. Or unless I missed the like button.

 

So, I think I got the basics on the mod down, so might as well share it.

Pokémon will spawn (additional, not instead of other monsters) on all planets, bound to their threatLevel, giving the capture pods more of a pokemonish feel.
You can capture them all, legendaries and pre-legendaries being overworld miniboss mobs.
Depending on the amount of people working on this mod, we will have added most of the skills found in the original Pokémon games. (As much as possible)
We will also add 16x16 Icons of every Pokémon, create picture frames with them and create displays using a modified farmable option, probably, so you can display all the Pokémon you caught in your house or ship.

We'll need about 2-3 more Pokémon spriters / animators and one PA for projectiles / skills / icons.
If you really want there's still space for one "coder", if nobody wants that I'll do the code by myself.
