    More Planet Difficulties

    0: Harmless

    Biomes: Barren, Fields

    1: Low

    Biomes: Asteroid Field, Garden

    2: Moderate

    Biomes: Desert, Forest

    3: Risky

    Biomes: Ocean, Savannah, Snow

    4: Dangerous

    Biomes: Jungle, Mutated, Toxic

    5: Extreme

    Biomes: Arctic, Midnight, Tundra

    6: Inconceivable

    Biomes: Decayed, Magma, Volcanic, Jurassic

    7: Infernal

Biomes: Sulfuric, Ruin, Hostile (can be any planet variant from tier 1:6, ex. Hostile Tundra)

NPC settlements cannot be found on Tier 7 planets.
Side Note: Ruin planets after completing the main story will go dormant and become harmless.

Stargates: A tunnel between universes, after traveling through the stargate, the PC, crew, and ship will be transported to a new universe containing all new stars w/ planets with higher difficulty tiers 8:11. Access through the stargates is only possible after completing the main story. Traveling back through any stargates will return to the standard universe.

NPC settlements are very rare within the new universe. Only Novakid and Shadow NPCs can be found in this beyond universe. Space stations found in this universe are derelict, haunted, or infested.

New Star Types: Ion (Radiation II), Dark (Cold II), Supergiant (Heat II), Ethereal, and Lumen (color variation).

Only the new star types appear in this new universe.

    8: Outlandish

Biomes: Wastelands (Frozen, Fire, and Desert variations), Crystal, Metallic, Aurora (Ocean, Forest, Desert, and Snow variations)

    9: Impossible

Biomes: Solar, Nitrogen Ocean, Evolved Jungle, Greater Ruin

    10: Erchius (Eldritch)

Biomes: Luminescent Forest, Hive, Twilight, Necropolis

    11: Unreal

    Biomes: Borderworld, Elemental, Vault

    ?: Unknown

For planets close to an Ion star, certain moons, unresponsive space stations, and derelict ships.

    Upgrades

For the base game, equipment goes up to tier 6.
Legendary weapons can take up to tier 7.

In the expanded universe, players would have access to an additional tier 7 with craftable equipment.
Legendary weapons found in the expanded universe can take up to tier 8.

For the lack of good armor drops, Legendary armor set pieces can be found.
In the base game, Legendary armor can take a player’s armor to tier 7, in addition to a set bonus if an entire set is collected.

In the expanded universe, new Legendary armor set pieces can also be found.
These sets replace the craftable tier 7 armor with Legendary tier 8 armor, providing more survivability in addition to a set bonus if an entire set is collected.

Note that the gear cap will create a more challenging endgame. In the base universe the standard gear will take the player through tier 6, but the more challenging tier 7 will strain the player’s tier 6 equipment. Tier 7 planets would be an optional challenge that adds difficulty, but only if there is a cap on tier 6 gear.

The same principal applies to endgame tier 8:11 planets. Because the new gear cap is Tier 7, every planet will be threatening to the player. Maxed out crew (in an expansion), a maxed out vehicle (in an expansion), and a fully equipped player would be more vital in taking on the endgame tier planets.

What would the new universe and planets provide to the player?

    -More challenging dungeons

-Access to new classes through gear crafting (Healing, Summoning, Demolition, etc)

-Chances at getting new legendary loot (higher chances the higher tier planet)

    -New enemy types

-A way to expand the story (More challenging bosses and missions)

Also slightly breaking my previous gear cap, Erchius and Unreal tier planets would have a godly tier (gold rarity) of weapons and armors that would raise the equipment tier to 9. Extra incentive to try the hardest content.

Side note. Using gear caps, the tier of the planet wouldn't planet necessarily yield the same tier weapons. If a planet's tier is higher than the gear cap (depending on which universe) the gear will capped at the current gear cap. For the base universe the gear cap is tier 7, which is in line with the difficulty tiers, and the expanded universe had gear cap of tier 8, excluding gold rarity equipment.

Maybe there could be some sort of storyline with the Stargates? Learning more about the cultivator, maybe eventually some sort of filter over them so that the ruin can't come back. That, or this could be a sequel setup

    Here is my take,
The cultivator, and the ancient civilization accompanied by its time, created stargates to spread their life giving influence to many more worlds. Upon their travels they came across a universe that was the complete embodiment of the ruin. Unfortunately, through the work of the cultivator and his people, many universes had pathways connecting them. This then allowed the ruin to spill forth, corrupting many worlds.

Stargates where sealed, and all connections to the embodiment of ruin destroyed. A war had started between the cultivator and the ruin remaining across many worlds. Eventually to ruin was wiped out, but at a severe cost to the cultivator and its people. The ruin had gone dormant, gathering power.

Upon destroying the icon of ruin, the cultivator uses the last of its power to re open stargates to take you to its origin (the expanded universe) to uncover the fate of its people (Novakid), and the victims consumed by the ruin (Shadow).

I love the idea of stargates, and was wondering what the metallic planets would look like. Also what materials would tier 7 take to make? Tier 8? Gold rarity?
