Bug/Issue Lagg spikes

Well i'm new to the game... I bought it yesterday. I quite enjoyed the first 10 minutes, but then my FPS droppen to 3 which made the game quite unplayable... that really made me upset :c I paid 13 bux for the game that I can't run
And the game looks such fun!

Does someone have a solution for the lag? Specs :
Intel Celeron 2955u 1.4 GHz
4GB RAM

"old beast" it never was. Celerons were classed as work computer CPUs, so they are not meant for much of anything intensive. Starbound is a CPU heavy game, and those lag spikes you are expiriencing are likely ant time the game needs to generate anything, it will simply bottleneck the CPU.

Further, that is a laptop CPU, so Im guessing you are trying to play on a laptop. Most laptops of that class will have a 5400RPM hard drive in them because they are efficient on power and allow for high copacity at a lower cost. Those hard drives are slow. So any time the game needs to access something, it will hiccup.
