Is there really no way to preview signs in your inventory?

I love signs, I made a bunch, but now I have a box of them and I don't know which is which. I thought maybe it would show in the mouseover but they all just show generic info. Am I missing something?

Nope, signs don't show what sign they are unfortunately. You'll have to place them each. For future reference, I suggest putting them in multiple boxes, possibly grouping those with similar use (for example, all those for a specific project could be kept in the same box) together, to save on search time.

 

I found some awesome mods on the steam workshop to remedy this.

Go to your Starbound steam workshop and search for magic labels and improved containers.

I can't seem to find a mod to name my damn captured creatures though. Having them all named some indescribable horror just doesn't cut it for me.
