If there were to be something to destroy the empire you found, what will it be?

For me, i'd go with a Homeworld: Cataclysm approach, where i find some sort of pod that is sending out a distress call, and when i decide to research it, I, horrified, find out that it is a bio-mechanical virus that can take over living and machines alike. And thus activates a stream of story quets in order to defeat it before it competely takes over the universe making the universe unplayable without fighting your own and other ships, improved, every two second (assuming there is going to be space battles)

 

A grey goo catastrophe or a berserker spaceship

 

The only thing that could take down my empire is a Black hole.

 

The old fashioned Metroid way.

Find the self-destruct thingy lol.

(I have a problem with explosions)

 

Meteor showers or Redmatter.

 

Flubber. It's a dangerous substance.
