Huge FPS issues (Solved)

    I've tried every fix i could find but they all seem to be dated. I've tried disabling vsync steam overlay I've messed with all of my nvidia control panel settings and nothing seems to work. Brand new save on updated game and I get an amazing 8 FPS while in singleplayer and an overwhelming 4 FPS in a friends game. I've tried the unstable game as well as even the 32bit clients and still the same. I have a decent Rig i stream I play fallout 4 here are my Specs. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/m4qrwV You'll find this should be more then enough to handle this game...A console should handle this game no problem but appears as there's some funniness with the code? The only things running are Discord Nvidia of course Realtek HD Audio and steam. All drivers are up to date steam library is running on the 2nd HDD All of the system Specs should be in that provided link.

    Have you tried running the game without steam? Not just the overlay, but from the exe directly.

    Your specs are meh at best. You have a few things bringing you down. Your CPU is quite weak. Additionally, you are running the game from a regular hard drive which the game can struggle with when trying to load things. Ive also notices a trend with AMD CPUs typically being the majority of those with problems.

    I just tried that and it seems to have worked witch is interesting. I don't have an FPS counter now but it is extremely smooth and not a slideshow now. Shame I can't use the Steam friends list to join someone now and will have to use the dedicated server to set it up.

    I thank you for that tip and it is at least is playable now.
    I exited steam all together and used the exe file i'll have to do with steam on to see if i can join etc

    Some interesting information on this. After doing this now it seems to work completely normally I can now launch it through steam and I can join my friend no matter how I launch it now it seems to be working correctly as it would be. So perhaps its not creating a file as it should somewhere. I can provide any additional information for Devs just request it. I'll only monitor this for a day or two. Running at a constant 62 FPS now

    Eh Its better then the Athlon 2 635 I just upgraded off of for free. I've slowly been upgrading from a Free POS HP pervilion i got a few years back. Saving up for a 1070 atm to witch I'll bottleneck the hell out of until I figure out what platform I want to upgrade CPU, Motherboard, and probably ram to. Its quite rare i bottleneck my HDD i have before with large downloads but a game like this with 7200 RPM drive i Don't think that drive would be an issue. Specs are still better then others I've seen on here still using integrated graphics and so on.

    My suggestion would be start with the core parts. Get a good base cpu, some basic ram, and a solid psu. Once you have that, it should last you the most time. Once you have that set, then go graphics card. If you got a GPU now, you will be really bottlenecking your system.

    People swear by AMD, but I've used Intel literally all my life and haven't had any issues with them.

    As for your hard drive, it's fine, but an ssd is magnitudes better and cost per gig is reasonable. You can get like a 240gb ssd for about $100 and repurpose your current drive as a storage drive for everything that doesn't need ssd speeds, like movies, simple programs and whatnot.

    I have a laptop with an m.2 drive and it literally boots in 2 seconds. It is gnarly. Cost is still a little bit high though.

    Anyhoo, I am rambling at this point.
