NEWEST UPDATE: Leah on June 11 I thought it would be fun to do some High Def portraits of the characters (for practice and fun) that stay true to the official ones rather than doing them in a different style. Mostly I'm doing it for myself. I love the original portraits, but I am also a spoiled graphics brat. If there was an HD Stardew Valley mod, you betcha britches I would be all over that. Anyway~ I will update as I progress, if anyone is curious enough to follow along. Any and all critiques are welcome - as long as it is constructive and stays true to my purpose (to look like the original character portraits). An unbiased eye may spot flaws I cannot. If you do give critique, however, I do ask that you offer it on only the most recent version of each character. Update: Sebastian's sketch is colored now. I think I made his eyes too big. And his mouth is too frowny for a neutral expression. I'll fix it in the detailing.
I'm getting far too detailed with these. I'm just going to be coloring over them later. Why am I spending so much time on these sketches? Edit: I didn't color her under-vest thingy. I'll do it later. Update: Abigail
I haven't even started detailing yet! I'm only getting the base down before I get too much detail on them. Well, that was the original plan. You can really tell a difference between the first one (Alex) and the last (Abigail) Lol
Either way, really nice idea I don't really like all the vanilla portraits (looking at you Penny! Sorry!) But it's really cool to see them updated.
I've been wanting to see this exact thing for a while! I quite like CA's style for the portraits, but they could benefit from higher res. I won't lie, though. I'm looking forward to the bachelorettes the most
the sketches themselves look pretty freaking awesome so i'm really looking forward to see what you consider finished artwork!
I'm planning something a bit cleaner, like the soft coloring style of the art I made for you or this or this. I just want it to have a little more Stardew Valley feel than my own style. That was the whole plan. I can't seem to avoid making anything without a hint of Disney. I just drew too much Disney stuff in my developmental years. And thank you for the support!
AHHH amazing! haha, it's okay. we all need a hint of disney in our lives at times. i think what you have so far is really good, and i adore your coloring.
Every time I see Penny's vanilla portrait, I think her hair is one continues tool roll across her neck. You made it look better, though.
