How do you choose a system/planetary base of operations location?

I haven't explored these places, but I was looking for a cool sounding system to make my home base in. I started at 0,0 and explored the map from there. I did a universe reset at the release of space stations (1.3 I believe?) and I'm playing on Windows 10 64 bit. Feel free to add any neat named systems you have found! :D

On my pre-1.3 character (who I've left alone for now because of potential unupdated mod issues), I was busy setting up colonies on every tier of planet, so I could get ever tier of loot. My main base for that character was on a barren planet, because given the scale of the project, dealing with enemies throwing me off of a wall constantly while building would have been a pain.

I look for the largest planets and then look for something to take over, like an abandoned Hylotl city.

Also, I love going to (0,0) as fast as I can =-D

My computer's a bit of a potato, so I prefer setting up shop in places with the fewest processor-taxing factors, like weather. Barren planets are good. I also loved building asteroid-belt bases pre-1.3, like the space stations but built by hand.

Of course, early on I build my things on my start planet, because you need to get going on stuff as soon as possible. I usually feel a little sad when I need to leave and find more productive places...

Actually, many people know Hitchhiker's Guide. It may not be very obvious to you, but If this post was shown to 500,000 people, many people would get it.

  19. Since I play with Frackin Universe and it removes a lot of system names I found this mod on Steam called, Old FU Star Names + More by tiramisu. It adds back in a lot of system names.

    I have found the following,

    Grimm Point
    Mark Edge
    and Stark System,
but none of them are on the level of... Floral Mark! A Star With Florans On Almost Every Planet! Coincidence? I don't think so. *potted plant says hi*
