Bug/Issue Character Deleted!

So woke up today to find my character gone i did not delete it and i don't know if a recent update deleted it, maybe i missed something??? anybody else get this ?

 

Sometimes this might happen due to a crash or an interruption when the game is trying overwrite save files. Thankfully characters are usually recoverable. The best thing you can do going forward to prevent this in the future is to do manual backups after each session (save at least 3 backwards just in case). I wish starbound staff would address this particular problem because I've seen a lot of people needing to do this, when they really shouldn't.
