Can trees grow on stations?

I swear I saw the saplings go through a few stages of growth then stop. So I'm not sure what's going on with that.

 

Yes they can , my GF put some of them and they grow.

Also it's not in a vanilla station , we use a mod for make our own (but still in a vanilla "space")
(UnlockedStation mod btw)

 

Maybe the default Greenhouse isn't tall enough? I'll try another room, Thanks.

 

Yes tree need some space above for grow , you can also try on a planet , place a spalling , then block maybe 15 block above , then next to it , another sappling with block placed 16block above , and so on , you should find the minimal space required like that IMO

 

I've tested this with the Toxic Kelp saplings, and they work.
