Modding Help Can I mod Starbound (GoG) without it affecting any part of Starbound (Steam)?

    Basically I'd love to play around with some of the bigger mods like Fracking Universe, but don't want to risk my characters and universe if I decide I want to play without it. I have Starbound on both GoG and Steam, so I was thinking of keeping my Steam version clean and installing the mods on GoG... can I do that without it affecting any part of my Steam install or would there be shared directories to be concerned about?

    The characters and universe are stored locally in the installation folder it self.
    So they do not share anything between them either way,
