Something I think would be extremely helpful for people who have mods installed would be that on the main menu to have a button labelled mods and it will display your mods installed or subscribed with a button beside them choosing whether to enable or disable them and at the bottom of the menu would have enable or disable all button. Have you, prechance, looked to the bottom right of the main menu screen? There is a button that allows you to manage mods.
At this point, the gear button just shows a list of what's installed, but not the option to disable anything installed.
