    Some other development happenings:
    • Quiqksilver continues to make other neat Challenge Rooms. You can see some of them here.
    • A new Ancient Door has been added to the nightly. (As well as floran mission items.. strange web type stuff)
    • A bug was fixed where players wouldn't start with the Wooden Platform recipe
    • They continue to make progress on the boss at the end of the Floran Mission and his minions. (his shell gradually shatters now)
    • They have also continued to fill out the Avian mission and the Hylotl mission.
    • The Floran Mission does not have an exit teleporter in the nightly, as they are restructuring the ending area, use /admin to be able to teleport out.

    Colony specific news:
    • Rent will eventually be based off of the tenant's happiness, as well as the quality of materials in the structure.
    • When a tenant moves in they will now fire off a random celebratory projectile. (this is the confetti mentioned in the blog)
    • You will be able to have tenants on your ship (they treat the ship windows as solid backgrounds)
    • Current object tags, which define what type of tenant moves in:
      • Races and associated Dungeons:
        • Ancient ..just "ancient" (the style of the Ark and challenge rooms)
        • Apex: Mansion, Research Lab, Village
        • Avian: Airship, Temple, Tomb
        • Floran: Hunting Grounds, Prison, Village
        • Glitch: Castle, Sewer, Village
        • Human: Bunker, Prison, Village
        • Hylotl: Ocean City, Village
      • Categories: Cooking, Door, Musical, Light, Misc, Storage, Wiring
      • Descriptive: Combat, Commerce, Electronic, Evil, Explorer, Hoard, Knowledge, Mechanical, Nature, Odd, Pretty, Sandstone, Science, Tar, Valuable, Wreck
      • Holidays: Christmas, Valentines
    * Farmables have been tagged "Nature"
    * I have updated the Colony Deed wiki page with all of this information besides tags.
    * Katzeus, Dunto, and I are working to get these colony tags onto all the object wiki pages.

    All of these items are on the nightly. If you want to watch their progress more closely you can follow the nightly patch notes on the wiki and Kawa's direct nightly change log. Plus I usually post updates on blogs like these, and quiqksilver also details cool upcoming features on reddit. (and even more on youtube)

    At least 1 more week until Unstable, and at least 2 weeks until Stable.

    It depends on how much they want to cram into the update and how many issues they run into on the way. For example, the combat overhaul is the main focus of the update, but they are also working on colonies, selling, challenge rooms, and the Avian mission. (Also finishing the Floran mission with Nuru and Ixodoom, but that's nearly done)

    Hmm... I hope this means that there will be a penguin bay mission leading up to the Dreadwing boss fight. That would be cool.

    In my dreams your ship actually lands, or at least docks, at the outpost for upgrades. It's not to be, of course - but yet I dream. That was one of the cooler details of the first Mass Effect game (and KOTOR) - the ability to land AND get out of your ship. It would be nice to do that with a ship you can actually customize beyond model spaceships.

    Model spaceships, devs. Get on that!

    I see novakid on your list. but aside from the western theme the cloudball pet, and a few intricacies of speech involving the ark it seems to me that the novakid race as a whole still needs to be fleshed out more as it is currently running on a human base template, so the question is, does novakid being on your tennant tag mean that they have fleshed it out more?

    Also as far as tennants go, can they have pets? can we give them pets? can we set if they have pets or not? can we take their pets and add them to our zoo?

    No, they have not been adding Novakid objects recently, since they are focusing on the Avian and Hylotl missions first. They have added at least 30 new objects for both of those races.
    (I actually removed Novakid from there just now, since that's actually the one race I haven't yet seen tags for)

    Yes, tenants can have pets. You will "give" them pets by simply meeting the requirements of a tenant with a pet to move in. See the Colony Deed wiki page for details (we continue to add types there as they get put in)
    (The types are mostly placeholder right now, but they have confirmed tenants will have pets.)

    i think the Penguin Bay's Legal Goods "CoughBlackMarketCough" has gotten a hole lot more Goods to sell...
    i hope this is leading to more stuff to upgrade my ship with.

    Wonder if all those parts their maybe hints to customisable ships?
    i'd love to change the way the tier 8 Apex ship looks... that and the avian.
     
  14. It would be great to see the Penguin Bay be an armor and weapon shop as well, so you can buy armor sets with stupid amounts of pixels. Would mean you could legitimately make progress through the game without mining and adventuring.

    That image is named "Shipyard", and they plan on adding vehicles (which includes Mechs) that are are objects in the open world (not bound by tech) soon.

    So actually.. Yes this fuels your wish for Mech Bays.. :D
