Do you think it'd be possible to have the tentacle beast and the rest of the animation animate at different speeds? I feel like that would make more sense visually.
It seems alien (no pun intended) because it's always doing that same fidget. It could do with a longer wait between the green llama thing's fidget, but keep the tentacles moving. Maybe make it fidget only when interacted with?
Yeah, I also think this animation is too fixed, I think it needs more work in order to become more....ummm..."organic". But don't get me wrong, the quality of the animation is very nice!
Quality Quality Quality!! I love the amount of enthusiasm these developers have, it is so amazing to me. LOVE the facebook concept art! When a game is made ONLY for money it sucks really bad, but when they WANT to enjoy making/playing the game, it turns out really good (most of the time)... Look at Torchlight, Portal, Minecraft, etc...
Looks really nice! Heh, tentacles must be a pain to animate... Perhaps I need to tip my hat to... um... uh. Nevermind!
The animation looks great! However, please, please, PLEASE do not tell us what subjects you researched to figure out the most appealing ways to animate the tentacles. Or how long those research projects took.
agreed, seeing the tentacle and mounted rider animations start/stop one frame apart makes it seem very 'robotic' and stiff, if it were off by another frame or 2 it would make a world of difference (or if the tentacles moved more?)
