The eyeball trees are really growing on me. At first they seemed kinda jarring with the more realistic other biomes, but the more I think of it with all the weird and wonderful unique creatures wandering around and with all the different coloured plants and the pretty pixellated graphics it feels like a fittingly whimsical touch. After all, Starbound was always supposed to be about fun, right? Daily updates great as ever! They're such a nice thing to look forward to every day!
Day 34: They're still watching, no matter where I'm hiding. Can't find any food down here, starving to death. Day 41: An eyefruit dropped into my hiding hole, *om nom nom*. I don't feel so g--- ARGRABAGRAGDFGAHAFA
Vision isn't much use to an immobile organism, but there are other viable explanations. They may not be actual eyes, but rather an adaptation intended to ward off predators. The eye-fruit could function as lures to trap prey. Or perhaps they are the eyestalks of a massive subsurface organism.
Oh god. What if the eyeballs followed your movements. It would be so much more awesome! If skill icons pop up, then I guess the mobs won't have health bars above their heads but rather somewhere else on the screen.
...the eyeballs can see into my soul.... and they know I would kill for this game... they whisper to me .... I must do as my eyeball lords command ...for Starbound!
While I won't be staying on a planet like that, I do find the eyeball trees cool. Especially in the rain. I luv Starbound.
