I personally like the new inventory layout. However, would you please consider allowing the inventory space to be upgradable with some kind of advanced tech? Like perhaps some kind of compression technology or using Kerr black holes or something? Basically a high-tech version of a "bag of holding", though not infinite. That's my 2 cents! Repose
Will bosses be EXTREMELY hard to kill like in Terraria when on your own? I know the whole point of bosses are for them to be hard but I found Terraria's later bosses to be almost impossible on your own unless you're pro, or I just suck.
This inventory looks better than those space hobos out there. I'm aloud to mention space hobos, right?
I have a great idea, well at least I believe it is: Being able to create/craft bigger backpacks with different attributes... like you start with a small backpack that has like +3 speed because it is light, then say later you can craft a big backpack that gives you +10 slots but has -2 speed or something like that?
as long as when you got more than 1 item, it stacks it should be ok and be well organized. Also, how about making more item slots in your inventory splitted by item type. For example, 1 inventory for weapons, for armor, for materials like gold silver etc. The list could go on but those inventory types could be accessible by a button on the side or the top of the inventory slots. Imagine like Eve-Online's cargo bay types. The way it works now is you got one normal and others for either your ore and sometimes for different types of items that only they can fit in those specialised cargo.
It looks great though I think it should start out smaller then you can upgrade it later. I don't know how much work thah would entail but my favroite part of any game is the leveling up aspect. I love starting out weak like Terraria through picking up hears or stars, you are able to get more powerful and having goals like "ok todaybim going to focus on upgrading my inventory" are fun. Also having a smaller inventory at the start forces you to prioritize what you want to hold on to and not just pick up all the crap you find along the way.
So, I'm guessing that the send to ship button sends items from your inventory to your ship (or teleports the player to the ship?), but how many items can you send to the ship at a time without going back to the ship? Is there infinite ship holding place for the items? Or is there like a chest in the ship, and when it fills up, you can't send anything to the ship? It would be even cooler though if you can place chess in your ship, and the ship auto fills them with stuff you send back. Anyways, I LOVE THE NEW MENU THING. The old one was kind of crappy and I didn't know what anything was, but this makes everything so simple and nice n organized.
I dont know if it was said before, and sorry for taking my time with this, but could you consider "adding" back pack item slot, so we could make new bags and increase bag size with game progress, it dose not haw to be somthin major, like every 20 lvl a new bag is ok. But this could be just my thin, so i am fine either way as long as i get the chance to play the game =)
Backpack should be an option but it should share slot with something else so playe have to choose between say: 20 slot backpack jetpack smaller jetpack (basically jump jets for longer jumps, and very short flight) + 10 slots of space portable camp set (provides some basic crafting benches + cooking + place to sleep for 4 players) so player that wants to loot most could opt for bigget backpack and just use his trusty grappling hook, while explorer could get smaller one with jumpjets, while adventuring party could take one camp per 3 playes and save space/time on seting up camp
