Well darn... that's one theme I hoped wouldn't come up...
Alas, looks like I'll have to fire up the old GIMP again... -sigh-

This is a really neat piece. Cool idea, composition and pixeling.
It deserves something better than winning without opponents.

(I know it has bad lighting and AA, but it is a terribly boring thing to redo lighting and apply AA on 12 frames).

Heres my bomb flower! Allows mario to throw bombs. First time using this kind of lighting on the bomb part.
(any criticism?)

 

I'm throwing a steam key for NightSky into the winner's pot.

 

Here is my criticism: Firstly the shading is off it needs to be circular shading to make the bomb look like a sphere. Second the stem is shaded to look like it has a bomb on it. It needs to have a shadow from the bomb on it. Third the borders are too black they need to be lighter where light is shown. Fourth the style of Mario Games are missing I'd change the eyes to look like they do in the game and make the leaves match the other flower based power-ups. Fifth add transparency to the background you can do this with paint.net.

(also the eyes are meant to be that way, I like the N64 version on the eyes)

 

Actually, I think the Bomb Flower's eyes are justified, considering Bob-ombs look like this:

Use GIMP, it's probably the best free image editor you can get on mac.
