It's a very tough question...Option 2 sounds really cool but it has huge restrictions (it would disable custom avatars).

I agree. The second option does seem really fancy, though for a new member like myself (And I tend to "lurk" instead of being productive) I don't know how much fun I'd be able to get out of it.

 

2nd option is good and all, but Suika took so much effort for those 50+ avatars..

 

I dont want to use it only for my avatar here, so i like option 1
also it is fun to create your char before the release

 

I would say Option 1 because that makes it an option to begin with.

 

I like option one as well. I think that option two just adds to many restrictions.

Ah, this is quite interesting. I do believe option 2 sounds pretty cool, but it'd be a shame to see so many Avatars go to 'waste'. In a way, option 1 gives people more freedom to use whatever images they'd like to - including character sprites.

What about having a 2nd Avatar below the main Avatar with the character being displayed there?

i'd prefer the first option, i would like to fiddle with the character select and keep my logo as my avatar.

 

i vote option 1: personally i most likely won't even change mine regardless because i plan to keep a vector of lelouch as my avatar as long as i can

and the 2nd option is very cool, but since it'd remove any custom avatars-that's a huge disadvantage and im not really down with that :/

Option 3 was added, no chance it would be added though.

I like Option 3 but I if that's not possible I'd go with Option 2. It would get rid of many custom avatars but I don't mind.

 

Option 1, Option 2 seems really nice, but to be fair, Starbound is all about the customization and randomization, tying people down kinda goes against that trait
