All I know is the beta isn't optimised so memory usage could be an issue. It may be a fix they provide soon or not so soon. Not sure how much an affordable server can take at the moment before instantly using all its memory, or how things pan out when the memory does indeed cap.

I'm at a threat level 10 planet with 13 defense and all armor penetration 11 gear, with three sniper rifles and two shotguns.
I need to slow down maybe.

 

We're testing the first instance of the dedicated clan server right now with 2GB RAM. Right now though the game itself has a memory leak so a clan server is simply inefficient for large numbers because with even just a few of us the memory usage slowly built up to maximum. However knowing Chucklefish this should be fixed very soon, and then we can see how many people fit effectively onto our server

 

Anybody got a spare instrument they don't need?

 

Well, I've been staring at the launch screen for a few hours. It's a nice launch screen. Too bad I can't get any farther.
Good thing I've found the problem. Bad thing is I need to update drivers, and can't because they're so old.

 

i got a spare violin if you want. I use electric guitar.
edit: also I have a question, any ideas on how to kill the ufo? i know how to just need to find some good stuff, any ideas?

Once the update happens which "will probably require a character reset" (Tiy), the clan server will be posted here for everyone to hop in.
We don't know how well this will go, but we figure it's the best way to stress test the server. So it's a possibility that everything breaks because of the memory leaks (or unforeseen circumstances), but there will surely be a way around it...maybe...so don't be disheartened! The Star Veterans will play together somehow, someday soon.

 

Hopefully it works first round, the clan planet shall be erected finally!

 

i'll leave near the bottom of the planet... by lava... because its cool down there!
