Latest Sprites: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hi guys, When the body template sprite for starbound was released, I started drawing sprites every now and then, whenever I felt like it. So, today I noticed that I already had a considerable amount of them, and i thought i should share them with you... So here they are, my Starbound Sprites (listed in order of creation): Lizard Armor (Based on the Lizard-Screenshot that was revealed ages ago) Black Space-Suit Dual-Scythes-Guy Bandit Outfit Borderlands Bandit Big Sister Zer0(Assassin) -> Updated Mad Moxxi Yoko Gaige (Mechromancer) Maya(Siren) Sasha Braus (aka potato girl) Crystal Maiden Constructive feedback appreciated
Well, i honestly love your sprites. A little bit more on the shading though, and it would be amazing. Not that it isn't already. Do you take requests?
thanks for your comments! this matter has been discussed before. luckily, blind sniper helped me out back then -> you might want to ask a female space adventurer with curvaceous features on that matter. i am no expert concerning this... rather not. i currently make sprites when i feel like it, not when i am asked to do them. it just feels more ... free that way i guess. however, you are free to suggest something that might draw my attention...
Very nice! You ask for constructive criticism, you get it : 1-Your shading could be a little more apparent. In real life, leather, metal, and plastic reflect a lot more light than cloth. That being said, it's also nice to have a point where the light is coming from to reference the shadows off of. For me, that point is usually at the top-right. 2- You don't really see too many staircase borders in professional spriting (I'm looking at the space suit helmets and the reaper hood). Don't be afraid to make diagonal lines, but don't have them go on for too long, because, again, it doesn't look professional. Good examples of how you've done it right is in the Lizard and Zer0 helmets. That being said, this is VERY good for a first post, better than many I've seen, and I'm looking forward to seeing more. My favorite, and the one I see practically nothing wrong with, is Mad Moxxi. She looks sooooo cute!
thank you for your feedback! those are some really helpful tips! i will try to keep those things in mind in the future.
Update: -added Gaige (BL2 Mechromancer class). i'm pretty satisfied with the result, even though i had to leave out a lot of tiny details: ... i should really do this more frequently. may 27, really? that summer passed by a hell of a lot faster than i recall...
Update: -New Maya sprite: -Updated Zer0 Sprite: Still no progress on axton or salvador though, they seem almost impossible
Heh, borderlands. Well done sprites I have to say, I know working with tiny pixels can be a pain in the butt, so making stuff that actually resembles what you intended and making them look good can be a challenge. Keep it up, I say.
Nice job! I see a lot of "Starbound sprites" around here, yet most of them are just recolorings of the Chucklefish ones. Yours are different, though.
thank you for all your replies! yes, but they are still all based on starbound templates. i would love to make something really unique (like a character with a new stance), but i just can't get the hang of it
