Realism mode

This would be an optional mode tied to each character separately.
Like hard/med/soft-core, except instead of making the game harder by adding damage and health, this adds a new layer of mechanics to the game such as:

    • Oxygen - The need to breathe (oxygen)
    • Weariness - The need to rest (from tomany2 weariness)
    • Mining supports - The need to prevent cave-ins (from afterscore mining supports)
    • Food/Water - The need to eat and drink (Already in-game)
    • Natural disasters - Earthquakes, floods, cosmic rays
    • Gravity - Crushing weight, near zero gravity, etc.
    • Temperature - Hot planets needing cold equipment, cold planets needing hot equipment (from Hapistorique temperature) (While Cold is in-game, hot is not)
    • Invasions - Unique events that threaten your home planet ( I can't find the original thread, please link if you have it)
Feel free to add anything to the list.

Aside: I'm not sure how this would work in multiplayer mode. I guess you would only be able to play with others using the same mode?
    Server option.

I totally support this idea, I love challenges in games and realism is always nice.

    Just make realism a serveroption.

Perfect. Just what I was looking for :]

    As do I.
Realism is so fun and massively frustrating at the same time!
    But mostly fun.

A realism option would be nice, other then Terraria's "you die you lost the game".

I would love to see realistic gameplay, really scouting out each planet to decide what gear would be best etc.

    gravity is a thing

Maybe you can be crushed on planets with enormous gravity or float off into space on planets with no gravity.

You could potentially also be pulled by things with higher gravity than you while flying through space.

Simple things such as fall damage, hunger and such add so much to the gameplay.

    Nice addition.
    Added to the main post.

Someone, somewhere also mentioned temperature, that would also be nice. For example: On a cold planet you need warm equipment so you don't freeze to death.

    Sweet =]
    Sounds like another fun mechanic.

Oxygen sound great, You will land on planet in special suit, have some gear to check if there is possibility to breathe or smth like that - awesome.

...And if you can't breath you could do some terrarforming so you can breathe again (or you could built a biodome)

Would be neat if you had to (on certain planets) tie yourself down to your ship to explore.
Make sure you have air or don't float off.
