passable liquids blocking Blocks The idea is simple, having blocks that are passable (not solid) by players, npcs, projectiles etc but blocks liquids. Example uses: Entrance for an underwater base Secret swimmingpool exit/entrance Waterlock for underwater mining Here is how i implemented it in terraria once, i hope that gives youse a good image of what i mean.
Yes a forcefield is what i had in mind aswell for starbounds modern theme. Those are the ideas i initially had on how they could work: 1x1 Blocks emitting a field around them at the size of one 1x1 block so that nothing passes through them and you place them like any other block block size: 1x1, effect size: 1x1, effect shape: squared A device that once powered pushes all liquids away from it within a certain radius. block size: 2x3, effect size: 4x4 to 5x5, effect shape: round/squared Nodes that connect with other nodes in proximity generating a barrier between each other. block size: 1x1, effect length: max 6blocks, effect shape: beam/linear
Reminds me of that force field shit that was in the 1st star wars movie, like the underwater one Jar Jar showed them.
Oh I see, so what you actually mean is, something like an invisible door, right, right. It could really be useful.
Not just like "doors", they can be used to form a whole sphere to block the liquids off a whole underwater city. But their main purpose would be doors i guess.
Now imagine making them kind of like doors, so you can disable them when you want and all the water goes out, lmfao.
you would have to defend the forcefield generator heavily as that would be the first target for your evil twin that is constantly trying to ruin you because if it got damaged then the bubble would dissapear and flood the whole town
Also, maybe the opposite? Sort of like, a grate thing that liquids pass through, but not anything else.
