RELEASED Build Your Own ship/ Sandbox Ship[Dead]

You should enable crafting of the ship's systems, my captains chair despawned when I was trying to move it :/.

 

Nice one Rik, I've done a quick video of this shipworld file in action. I'll be doing a build video later on too but more interested in seeing other people's creations right now. Anybody else got screenshots to show?

 

I used star map screens from a temple.

 

My My, that is a pleasant suprise! Thank you for Showcasing the mod on your channel, I hope to see many more creative ship designs in the future.

 

I went ahead and put extra copies of the ship items into the locker just in case you accidentally lose one, the upload should be updated.

 

I Hope my ship fits the bill, been working on it all day.

It still has work that needs to be done but im done for the day and want to share it.

Edit: Updated it with the lighting, im amazing how vibrant it looks with lighting added.
Time to work with layout planning.

Just downloaded this mod and made my own ship... I have to say that this is my favorite mod so far!

Here's what I came up with:

It's certainly not the best that's been posted, but I figured I'd post what I made.

 

I deeply regret that I have but one like to give. Hopefully this will become a standard feature. If there were craftable ship features then this would go from 'really cool mod' to 'full feature overhaul'.

 

Its very grid orientated, However I like your use of stairs on the front and your engine thing is flat out awesome.
The tesla spikes seem to work really well here too.

 

Hmm.. Yeah, It is pretty grid orientated, Never really noticed that ..
The reason I came up with the idea for the stairs was because I wanted it to look less blocky, I think it looks pretty nice.
I'm not really sure how I came up with the idea for the engines and engine room, I just started building and that came out.

I don't suppose you've looked into how the existing ship pieces work? Is the frame of the various racial ships one big piece, or are they broken down into tiles? If they're broken down into tiles, can they be placed and broken once the ship has been cleared, or are the actual blocks themselves flagged as unbreakable? I ask because it would be incredibly neat if you could include the racial ship tilesets in the ship locker. Not needed at all, because this mod is incredible all by itself, but I'd like to attach engines and the human ship shark head forward section if possible. The floran crystals are also pretty cool assets.

Build area is not big enough for a deathstar.

 

Hey just wondering what to do if the captains chair isn't registering the fuel? I have fuel for days but nowhere I set it down does it seem to register.
