[BUG] "Energy" Based Attacks Bypassing Armor

"Energy" based attacks from monsters, like fireballs, ice clouds, and pretty much anything that isn't a direct melee attack appears to be ignoring armor. This can be easily seen from birds, who often carry energy attacks and will hit players for ridiculous amounts of damage with them, though making contact with said bird will have the damage reduced by armor as normal. There are some ground monsters that have energy attacks that also seem to bypass armor.
