kyren submitted a new blog post: THE MORE YOU KNOW... about the Unstable Update Continue reading the Original Blog Post
Might as well make the change to Unstable for this patch to see what's been happening over the past year. Hopefully it'll get me motivated to work on things again.
The more I know indeed... I've been set to the unstable branch for a long time with Koala... I thought Giraffe outright killed my character there. Think I'll switch my Linux primary to stable, my XP nightly install to unstable, and my Win7 install can remain nightly... Here's hoping Codbert lives through the transition... *edit* Yup, he lived.
Biggest news in a long long time. And from the best Chucklefish member of staff to boot (apart from the dog). The question now really is :- When is the NEXT update?
Thank you very much, now my wait just begun. What I mean by that is, even though I would be playing, quite a few things are still WIP. I am one patient person. And now to go to the fun and see for myself what the update is like.
So, just one question... are our ship worlds going to live through the update when this hits stable, or should I be stuffing all of my rarest loot into my pockets? ...how do I tell which shields to save when they don't have stats? Ack! Oh Gods, what about my techs and my 3D printer recipes? will those carry over since the system changed?
Oh yes. I think I am the most patient of the irl people I know, which is quite startling sometimes...lol now that it finally got downloaded, time to check it out.
I'm aware of what causes the “(InventoryException) Not allowed to discard stack when locked.” crash. It always happens to me whenever during a moment of server lag, I try to remove an item from a chest slot, then close the window without setting the object down (Normally this would place the item into the first available slot) before the lag period ends. This results in the game crashing with this error.
Have fun ya'll! Think I will wait it out until stable, sounds like some things aren't quite finished yet, and I would like to get the full experience. Good luck players, and hope the debugging goes well. Can't wait to ride a space train...
