    Nice update! This does bode well for some really interesting weapons! Maybe new effects for food too? Ice cream = brain freeze makes you move slowly but lots of sugar makes you mine faster?

    Ice cream = 50% chance of increased mining speed (with pickaxe/other tools, not MM) for 5 min, 25% chance of reduced mining/movement speed for 60 sec due to brain freeze.

    Is it possible to have status effects that are proportional to the amount of damage dealt vs the max life of the thing hit / damaged? I'm thinking freeze / chill / ignite / shock from Path of Exile type stuff.

    For those that don't know, Path of Exile is a pretty killer ARPG that has some great design.

    Ignite, for example, is a status effect applied from fire damage critical hits that burns the target for 20% of the initial hit per second for four seconds. As of the current stable, burning damage is tied directly to the status effect and does not scale. Having such a function possible that the tick damage is proportional to the hit would prevent the need for several tiers of burning status effects and make the effect scale with other damage increases too.

    Freeze in PoE is proportional to the damage of the hit versus the max health of the target - the larger % of the target's max health done in the hit, the longer the freeze effect. This means for the same amount of damage, weak critters get frozen for a long time but bosses won't be frozen for very long. Stun in the game works the same way

    Hmm. Now, will we have certain items that provide immunity to some special effect? Certainly it would be nice to have an anti-burning cape or anti-slow boots. But most importantly, I want something that nullify the damage from explosives, so that I can chug nitroglycerine potion or whatever then jumping like a maniac to explode everything like a michael bay version of mario.

    I can imagine it would be large to add but if we could put status's on to weapons personally and mix them up like fire and ice on a gun, that would be fantastic. Maybe if status effect images could somehow reference which to apply, then mix together the color and image of the two for something -like that purple fire. I've always wanted to see a similar system in a game, and especially so with things like the magic in elderscrolls. In Oblivion you got to mix spell effects but one effect just took over the main appearance and it was visually kind of lame. I'd just be thrilled to see it tried out here. Of course it could be used beyond just weapon effects as well.

    Let's just make sure that status effect related hp reduction/death doesn't keep leading to 0 hp invincible monsters and mini-bosses that can still kill us in a heartbeat, its been one of the longest standing issues in nightly updates right up there with ship locker resetting on ship repair, so I wait to see if the status update which this is most relevant too will finally address it or leave it unpatched again.

    Whatever you do, PLEASE get rid of the random weapon names.
    Some of those names are just freaking weird. Some weapons are actually pretty good, but sadly they have a bad name. One time, I had a weapon that did A LOT of damage! Guess its name? "Poop Stick." I was left with a Poop Stick...
