I feel like there should be a separate teleport animation for the gate.

 

awesome, glad to see this get implemented. i'm pretty sure this kind of gate could be used to 'cut off' player made mods from the rest of the game, pretty much functioning as a way to allow players to enjoy vanilla game before jumping into modded worlds later on.

BTW, anyone know if a mod to allow that could be made? Also, would love to see a mod that allows people to download new biomes and such directly from an item/the gate, making modding seamless for the less technically knowledgeable denizens of the internet

EDIT: Also, I'm still half hoping/disappointed that the gateway is (not) able to have a ship fly through it, as that is what I envisioned. More of a wormhole than a telepad.

 

I hope there is an awesome sound when activating this fantastical door!

Or at least, that's what we (most people) think.
It could just be them trolling us by making us THINK that it is the protorace.
Or it could be... dare I say it...

I will not speak of the ancient horror that once terrorized the ship computers of the glitch.
