Huh. For me it was more like:

1. Go in with Water Bolts and Space Guns all fired up
2. Kill stuff
3. Amass a trillion keys
4. Explore everything
5. Loot everything
6. Never return ever again

But 1.2 added something...

7. Until hardmode, you will feel incomplete knowing there are chests you couldn't open

Is not that bad, I like it better than the corruption. It has more variety or monsters and the boss is just morbid. I would make a house there just to farm vertebrae and summon the Brain of Chut... Ctuh... the Brain to make money selling crimsonite bars.
