Outdated Rebalanced Beds (Discontinued!) 2/21/2014

Note: Development for this mod has been discontinued until further notice. In the meantime, others are free to use assets from this mod to create spiritual successors to it.

While the idea stems from AxelZero's Better Beds mod (which was recently deleted), the code makes heavy use of the "merge" function to cut down on size and compatability issues, and the beds were rebalanced so that some rarer beds provide more warmth and/or healing than others. Moreover, the recipes for the tiered beds were redone so that players could directly upgrade their existing beds using fewer materials than normal. (For example, you could eventually upgrade your Wooden Bed into an Impervium Bed.)

Notes:

• Wooden Beds grant .04 health regeneration and 8 warmth.
• Each tier of bed above the starting Wooden Beds grants an additional .02 regeneration and 2 warmth, so an Impervium Bed would grant .24 regeneration and 28 warmth.
  • Moreover, tiered beds can now be upgraded directly to the next tier of bed, requiring fewer resources to do so (though the lower-tier bed is consumed in the process). For example, instead of requiring 5 Impervium Bars to craft an Impervium Bed, you now only require 3 Impervium Bars and a Rubium Bed to craft one.
• As for non-tiered beds, their ability to provide health and warmth varies wildly. In general, places that would be uncomfortable to sleep on would provide little health regeneration, while places that lack any means of sheltering others from the elements provide little-to-no warmth. For example, the Apex Torture Bed and the Floran Prison Beds provide a measly .01 regeneration and no warmth.
  • On the other hand, many rare biome-specific beds provide varying degrees of health regeneration and warmth, though not as much as an Impervium Bed (although some come close to it). For example, the Rainbow Bed would provide alot more health regeneration than the Geometric Bed (.20 compared to .06), but alot less warmth (16 compared to 24).
  • Finally, although tents provide only .04 regeneration, they provide 30 warmth to make up for it, making them nice places to rest during cold and/or stormy weather.
