Starbound Private Beta Going On Now, Let's Get Excited!

It'll most likely be Admins and Mods invited first,
Then later will be expanded to trusted active users.

I agree with you. I mean, creativity isn't exactly what to look for in a beta tester.
Maybe if they win they get CONSIDERED as a beta tester but then again Tiy said beta testers (If there were any) would be pulled based off how active and involved they are with the community, not if you made a great hat.

 

Additional points for being in the spirit of the upcoming season.

I live in the San Diego area so the worst we will get is rain .
No snow for us .
Oh well, however I do have the strange itch that the devs have something in store for the holidays.
Not the release of Starbound, but like a holiday themed contest or something...

Back on topic, hopefully we get some holiday themed Starbound stuff!

More rapid than eagles his subscribers they came,
And he whistled and shouted and called them by name!

I thought private beta testing had been underway for a while? When I joined the forum people were already talking about this being underway. In any case don't get too excited about the use of the word "close," there's still a lot of work for Chucklefish to do on the game before release.

I think what's happening now is that there's another "private beta" that is collecting people on the forums instead of those that the team already knew and trusted. As far as I can tell, anyways.

 

There was a lot of speculation as to when a beta would start. It just now did.

We all know that this doesn't mean the game is close to complete. We just all recognize that Chucklefish has been making major strides in development. We all simply hope that the game is nearly complete.
After all, who wouldn't want one of the most promising looking games in a very long time to be released?

I believe that was just the developers testing the game as they developed it.

I just love being a wet blanket so here it goes again: Terraria 1.0.6 was in internal balancing for 3 months 3 MONTHS.
alright in all honesty I am really excited and am probly going to buy the game as soon as it goes into the pre-purchase Beta

 

I doubt that will happen. From what i'm seeing, some of the staff members aren't even playing yet. This seems to be the epitome of private.
Only a select few will make it. The strongest, the fastest, the smartest, the most active, the kindest, the most helpful, the most professional, and the most motivated.

 

I'm Korean, Chinese, AND mentally unstable, so I already fulfilled all these requirements a long time ago.

 

Being fairly asocial, I always feel a bit cheated with this. So I should force myself to be noticed so I have a chance at beta? Seems dumb.

 

I like how the closed beta they speak of is basically what it was before.

I assume they'll show more stuff, though.

 

It shouldn't matter on how many posts you have, it's just what those posts contain.
Some people only have like 60 messages but hundreds of likes and feedback.
Just be creative .
