Bug/Issue Singleplayer keyboard lag, mouse (mostly) fine

Unfortunately I didn't manage to find a thread or anything helping, so I'm posting here

I am suffering lag spikes where it will take my avatar a few seconds to respond to keyboard movements, and then they keep on walking even after the keyboard isn't being pressed, and take a while to change direction. It is laggy enough that I am not able to use the rocket jump upgrade, for example.
It seems to happen at a variety of times, and rather unpredictably, so I'm not sure if something in the game specifically causes it. It happens in vaults, on the spaceship and on planets. It has only recently started happening though, I'm in late game after the main questline.
    Windows 8 64bit, running 64 bit starbound.
My processor is an Intel Cire i7-4700HQ, CPU @ 2.40GHz
    16 gb of RAM

1: do you have a second processor? the main processor is the DPU but a second one is the GPU. many games usually run better on the GPU
2: is SB on that second pricessor? as in, is it using it?
3: could we get your log? its found as <SB folder>/storage/starbound.log (may appear as starbound with type LOG or type Text Document) and if the game was launched again after the last time this occurred, starbound.log.1-.5 (may appear as starbound.log with types 1-5) will also be useful

If you mean the onboard graphic that is an APU. The GPU is also not the second processor it's on a dedicated video card. Also the log probably won't provide any information about that problem.

However the video card would be interesting here. Also on what type of drive is Starbound installed? SSD or HDD? If HDD what speed (rpm)? Sata2 or Sata3 connection? What other software is running beside starbound?

That's my video card, info, I believe
I'm not sure which one is SSD and which one is HDD, but starbound is installed on the harddrive which is not also storing the operating system, which is the "data" drive or something. I can look into it more and provide more info. Although I think my harddrive is a single one with a split thing so.....
Ok! I looked up info and here's what I got:
    HGST HTS541010A7E630 2.5" SATA 1TB 5400 RPM HDD
Other software running besides starbound is steam, discord, occasionally google chrome. Not really much else.

I've had issues with Chrome when several tabs are open, it seems to suck up all the memory usage it can.

Or it's the read/write speed on your HDD (in this case 5400RPM) which is not ideal so that is also another potential cause.
I like the WD Black 7200RPM HDD's if I can't use a SSD. <This is for Desktop not a laptop in my case>
For me it's been a reliable HDD and hasn't failed mechanically and has a decent read/write speed :)

As for the GFX I found this <IMG should be attached I hope>, which again might also contribute to the issue.

Hm, alright then. Not really a solvable problem then. Aside from not using chrome, I suppose. Thank you for replying and helping solve this issue.
Also thank you Iris moderator, for helping me find the direction to look in.
