I'm really good at staying unimportant. It's amazing you found it, to be honest. ;3

Unwarranted self-loathing aside, I'm glad there's another showing interest! ^^
(Now I just need to find the time to finish the rest of these character sheets!)

    Name: Carn Anax

    Sex: Male

Age: Physically: 28 Chronologically: 1,647 (Earth Standard Years)

    Race: Human-ish

    Appearance:
    Carn.png

It may not seem obvious from the picture, but Carn is over 8 feet tall. Yes, that is as intimidating as it sounds.

    Traits:

    Positive:

Teleportation; One of his favourite talents. Years of practise have made him effective user of this ability. The effort required to teleport increases exponentially to the point of physical pain if used too much: -2% of Max Health for more than 5 teleports per day.

    Neutral:

    Not really good or bad..
Strange eyes; -His pitch black, blue speckled eyes are rather disconcerting. What is even more is disconcerting is that the blue speckles disappear when he is angry, turning them into soulless voids. And when he is about to kill you, they narrow like a cats might, which is...incredibly terrifying.

    Negative:

Darkness; -One of my favourite sentences in literature, "His eyes were bars, and behind them was a fierce, unfed animal," is surprisingly relevant. Except it Carn's case, the bars have been lifted. Explained more in the last paragragh of the Macro Story.

War Scars; This has pretty obvious implications. Not quite PTSD, he's too hardcore for that, but he treats every situation as a combat situation.

Starting Melee Weapon: Hatori; The glorified butter knife. Type: Dexterity. The Hatori is a long handled dagger that most resembles a butter-knife, if far more ominous. The weapon requires an immense amount of practice to be useful in any fashion. It works off the, "death by a thousand paper cuts," principle, the idea that you can neutralise your foe if you cut him enough times that he bleeds out, which makes it nigh entirely useless against anyone with armour. Hatori wielders attack by using a rather impressive set of twirls and shifts to change the direction of the blade, making jabs and slashes from one direction, before shifting and coming from an entirely different angle. Of course, the weapon is still a blade, so the regular old "stab stab" works.

    Backstory:
    This is role-play relevant backstory.

Having come through the portal with the rest of the humans, Carn is a little....undefinable. He wandered about for a time before eventually joining The Guild. He rarely speaks and there is an unspeakably cruel glint in his eyes. He's done nothing particularly note-worthy in Aliquot, aside from being note-worthy himself, and he tends to avoid people.

This is the greater story behind Carn. It's overly summarising, and overlydramatic. Also, no one should know this.

Carn was originally a human fighter pilot in Universe far, far away, in a quantum sense. A race visited his planet called the Endorians, who had come a hair's breadth away from extinction, and the large military fleet that came to Earth was all that remained of the race. With their government decapitated, the Endorians searched for a new leader As their law dictated that military commanders cannot be placed in parliamentary power, they chose Carn. Why? Not even Carn himself has been able to find out. The most he knows is that his genes were, "acceptable for the task," whatever that means.

With his placement in power, Carn underwent a genetic therapy that made his DNA more malleable and adaptable. Over the next few years Carn capabilities increased exponentially. Nearly every factor of his being was magnified, his strength, intelligence, personality traits, everything. Under his command, the Endorians rebuilt there race, and then promptly kicked him to the curb.

He spent the next three years behind a desk, doing nothing. However, with the Endorian's discovery of the Alternate Universe drive a new light dawned for Carn. He was sent on the first prototype starship to explore the universes and discover technologies. After ten years, Carn returned. His ship carried a huge bounty of incredible knowledge, and the kernel of a plan.

On his return to his home universe, Carn put his plan into action. He pulled together every marker he had and began construction on an enormous warship. When it was finished he filled the ship to the seams, 10,000 thousand souls with a heart for adventure, and set off. This ship sailed amongst the universes, encountering wonders beyond imagining and helping any creatures in need. The great ship soon gathered a fleet around itself. This fleet grew until it could no longer be sustained, so it settled. The colony flourished and grew into an imperium. The years ticked by, the imperium gained power, immense power. Carn wielded this power with skill and bound together an immense area. A culture grew, peace rained, happiness, joy, yada yada yada. Then they found an enemy.

The enemy were the Dysix. Mind bending, 1,000 kilometre ships composed their fleet. Lead by a ghoulish being, called Mallin, they destroyed world after world. Mustering their full military might, the Imperium struck back, arresting the spread of this dark race. The two forces threw themselves at each other with weapons of immense power. Finally, in a truly ferocious battle, Carn teleported onto the Dysix flagship.

There he clashed with his anti-self, the leader of the Dysix. Carn prevailed, or so he thought. The Dysix retreated, and the Imperium slowly knitted itself back together. But Carn was never the same. Carn had destroyed the body of his nemesis, but not his mind. The consciousness of Mallin had infected Carn's own. Mallin's influence destabilised Carn's naturally violent and aggressive personality. Although he manages to maintain himself most of the time, beyond the eyes of the Imperium, he does not. Carn has commonly been know to take, "vacations," in alternate universes. With his destabilisation, Carn began using these vacations as opportunities to unchain his darkness. His travels from the time from the war's end forward are marked by a streak of cruelty and amoral actions. His time in Aliquot promises to be no different.

Everything is fine but the positive trait. That's a LOT of attribute points from one trait; I normally only give two extra points from a single trait, three at most if I feel the negative/positive traits outweigh the other.

The best compromise I can come up with would be three bonus attribute points of your choice.

Edit: Or, another idea would be to make more positive traits so you could get more attribute points, but you'd have to have more negative traits as well and you can't have more than six traits in positive nor six traits in negative.
    :catnod:
Thank you, @Firebird Zoom, for answering that for me. :avail:D:

Edit: Yea, I'm not sure why this message broke the first time I tried sending it.

  20. BlueShard

    BlueShard Giant Laser Beams

During the battle of the Sana-hyrda system, Carn's fleet and personal flagship were obliterated. In the retreat, Carn's escape pod, and subsequently himself, was impaled by a piece of debris before crash-landing on a Venus like planet. His extensive genetic engineering allowed him to survive, despite the hostile conditions and the large metal spike driven through his side. He spent 5 hours in unbelievable pain before being captured by a Dysix scout cruiser, the crew of which he massacred before flying the ship back to Imperium space. Never the less, the experiences bent his psyche a touch. So to recuperate, he grew himself a new body and went into self-exile. That may seem strange if there was a war on, but time moves differently in different realities, so he could safely leave for a long period without time passing in his own reality.

Why is any of this relevant? Because the body Carn grew was canine. And that is the rather wordy reason he is human one moment, and wolf-like the next.

    I did some editing.

Reckless; Carn cares very little for his life, mainly because it is somewhat impossible to kill him, not entirely impossible, but somewhat: -4 Intelligence under stress.

Claustrophobic; A horrid experience during the war has made Carn morbidly afraid of spaces smaller than two metres squared: -10 Intelligence, -6 Dexterity, -4 Endurance and -2 Strength in cramped spaces.

Starting Melee Weapon: Hatori; The glorified butter knife. Type: Dexterity. The Hatori is a long handled dagger that most resembles a butter-knife, if far more ominous.
