Just about to leave the forums (after checking News) when you posted. Is that a special gun? Maybe we can dye weapons now.. The flashing looks a bit bright to me. There's a shadow to the left of the flashing.
Aaauuugh, that shadow has a large head, or stooped ness. The gif repeats right as it's about to be lit! Granted; this looks really awesome. This lighting stuff can make for some great Spooky Aliens/DeadSpace things in the future!
Oh jeeze. Flickering lights and creepy things shuffling in the darkness. Having Five Nights at Freddy's falshbacks... Oh, gods! It's the fox again! 5% power and 2 hours to go...
I like the atmosphere. I use lighting mods to help improve the atmosphere of the game, it's so bright and the character has X-ray vision it seems. With lighting improvements and those new flickering mechanics, the game could easily be an excellent host for some horror. There are a number of excellent pixel horror games and I'd love to see the ability in Starbound to at least sometimes function as a horror game in various starting world dungeons.
That creature is definitely leaving shadow grime in its wake. Probably pestilence personified. Or just a grimy dude.
ooooooooh, i can imagine it now, your walking through the base, you hear all these small howls, you walk into a room with a flickering light and a shadowy figure on the other side, you approach, the lights go out, theres a brief pause, than a loud screechy roar and you start taking a ton of damage and possibly die
