Well, the thing is, I wasn't posting the comment just to say that. I wasn't rushing to say I was first or anything like that. I read the update and looked at the gif which really intrigued me.
If a tree falls in the forest and there's nobody around to hear it, does it make a sound? I don't know, but it certainly has a lot of eyewitnesses.
Your post reminded me Indiana Jones and the temple of doom, , man it shocked me when I was kid! (look at 1:40)
The problem I have with this is that it's pixelated and the angling on it is causing further pixelation. A sprite is all well and good, but now it's got that annoying 'caterpillar' effect when it rotates.
My guess is that for insomnia fest, the team will be preparing a trailer, a short playable demo, and various footages and screenshots of the variety of the game to show off. Immediately after insomnia fest, the trailer will probably be released alongside all the other footage and screenshots for the world to see. My guess is that the team will then use a couple weeks after the festival to do a few more tiers and a few more bosses, and then release either a demo or a beta. But no matter what happens, I know we'll all be expecting great things from insomnia fest!
But who wants statue trees? It's probably not that noticeable in-game. Plus if it annoys you, you can just kill all the trees with a chainsaw.
Will the eyes focus on you as you walk around? the pupil enlarging sporadically at times? i guess that'd be too much work for one of the many tree types, but it'd freak people out methinks.. that being said, yes, i hope i don't start out on an eyeball planet myself
