Phew, that was the first .gif i ever made. I think it turned out well. Entry:

 

I find blue creepier. Maybe that's just a personal preference. Red is more to wrath or anger.
Nonetheless it's pretty good.

 

Unless its blood. No one wants to see red blood run down walls. If it's blue they'll just be like.... well shit the wall's bleeding kool aid or something.

 

Yup. Crimson blood is scary but only if it's written in legible letters. Having red paint is not. Although having ketchup in presence of Scyther is scary.

 

It's red because when I first was thinking of ideas, I just had a thought that said "Hey, let's make the whole thing red-tinted!"

 

This may not be an "accurate" or "correct" way to sprite/do pixel art, but I just wanted to mess around with using only two colors and just have fun

(what looks like it's mouth is supposed to be it's neck tearing apart and turning into a mouth )

Oh wow... how many colors did you use for his face? The pale skin I mean.

 

I used 4 colors for specifically the face, reused one blue I had made earlier as AA. The 4 I made for the face are also used in the hair and the teeth.

 

Wow, I wish I was able to plan out my colors like that haha


Anyways, here's my entry.

I had to resize it because it just looked strange when it was larger... like too plain.

 

Well even if you don't plan colors, what you can do is when you're making a new color, ask yourself how far off that new color is from a color you already have. If you can make the new color of a similar type as a color you have already, you can reuse a color you already have as AA or shading or highlight or what-have-you. And of course, you can always go back and shift your tones and make them work.

 

I do usually look to see if I already have a close color, but thanks for the advice! I'll try and not use unnecessary colors.
